Friday, June 5th was the last Friday of the First Fridays series at the Natural History Museum of 2015. The theme of this years series was “Do-It-Yourself Science,” which promoted the rise of the “citizens” and “scientists” working together to revolutionize and redefine scientific exploration. This season guests heard from the makers, doers and dreamers who are creating tomorrow’s scientific community today. June 5th had tours by Richard Smart on how citizen scientists are “Finding L.A.’s Hidden Wildlife One Photo at a Time.” Guests also enjoyed Magic of Math with Arthur Benjamin, who combines mathematics and magic to help make it more fun and easier to understand. Lastly, there was a discussion with Rick Bonney on “How Bird Watchers Can Save the World.” Outside performances in the Nature Gardens included KCRW DJ Raul Campos, Avid Dancer, Chicano Batman, Hanni El Khatib, and DJ sets by Captain Planet.

Premiere Events provided five full bars that included beer on tap. We are looking forward to next season’s First Fridays at the Los Angeles Natural History Museum.
